If rain is causing the Kwikee Step assembly on your Winnebago to extend and retract that there is almost certainly something going on with the wiring that's causing a short. I know you said you already did this but I would still start by double and triple checking all the wiring for the control module and assembly to make sure there aren't any loose connections or pinched or exposed sections that need to be repaired/replaced. We have encountered this problem before and it turns out it was the gear on the bottom of the steps starting to wear out, causing the step to bounce on the way in or out and not fully extend/retract.
Since you have a single step, the correct gear would be the Replacement Gear for Lippert Single Step # LC301696. I do recommend checking that the gear is bad/worn out.
If the gear looks to be in decent shape, it could potentially be the controller. It sounds like the switch is working out... view full answer...
